Despite a holiday-shortened week, investment firms are wasting no time building their teams in early 2025, with Warburg Pincus/Lendlease, H.I.G. Capital, and Deerpath Capital among those announcing key appointments.
Real Estate
Warburg Pincus and Lendlease named Bart Price as its chief executive officer of the firms’ life sciences, R&D and innovation real estate joint venture platform. Based in Singapore, Bart will oversee the platform’s strategic growth plans, identifying opportunities to further scale the platform and generate outsized returns for its investment partners. Most recently he was head of growth markets real assets at the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, where he oversaw Asia Pacific real estate and Asia Pacific/Latin American infrastructure.
Private Equity
Apex Orthopedics Investments appointed David Elliott to the role of senior vice president of business development. In his new role, he will be responsible for raising capital for Apex Orthopedics’ portfolio companies, driving the firm’s growth by securing strategic investments and managing relationships with investors. His career includes producing a $150 million credit facility for a private equity firm and a $50 million credit facility for an NFL team owner during his tenure at J.P. Morgan. Additionally, he raised $900 million from investors over an eight-year period at Titan Advisors.
H.I.G. Capital named Michelle Maldonado to the role of senior vice president of investor services. Previously, Maldonado was senior vice president of Front Office Solutions at Northern Trust.
Apollo Global Management promoted Frank Yangwen Shen to managing director, head of Greater China Wealth Management. Based in Hong Kong, Shen joined Apollo in 2022 from Oaktree Capital Management.

Deerpath Capital appointed Nelson Pereira as director of insurance investor partnerships, based in New York. Pereira joins from Mercer, where he served as alternatives investment director in his final year of a three-year tenure.

Ortoli Rosenstadt, a New York-based international law firm, promoted Yarona L. Yieh to a partner in the firm. Yieh’s practice is mainly in the Corporate and Securities Law, Asian and Capital Markets practice groups. She assists clients in corporate finance and securities, including initial public offerings, follow-on and alternative offerings and private placements, regulatory compliance for public companies and general corporate matters. In addition, she counsels entrepreneurs, investors, public companies and other corporate entities on complex corporate and cross-border transactions.
